Gravity Bowling: A Beginner's Guide
Forget everything you know about a normal bowling lane, because there's no lane here at all. Instead you're staring at a ball hanging from a rope, swinging back and forth like some kind of wrecking ball with better manners. Your only job is to snip that rope at exactly the right split second so the ball sails forward and smashes into the pins below. Sounds simple. It really isn't, not once the swing speed starts messing with your timing and your brain starts second-guessing every click.
Controller & Keyboard Guide
- Click the mouse button to cut the rope at the moment you want the ball released.
- On a phone or tablet, a single tap on the screen does the exact same job.
- No keyboard is involved here, so don't waste time hunting for arrow keys or a spacebar shortcut.
- Timing is everything since there's no drag-and-aim mechanic, just that one decisive cut.
Top Tips
- Watch the ball's arc for a full swing or two before committing to a cut, it helps you read the rhythm.
- Aim for the moment the ball is dead center over the pins rather than at the edges of its swing, that's usually your sweet spot.
- Knocking down every pin in a single hit is what actually pushes you to the next level, so don't settle for a partial strike if you can help it.
- Slower swings early on are there to teach you the pattern, so use those rounds to get a feel for the pendulum before things speed up.
- Stay loose and don't overthink each cut, tensing up tends to make people click either way too early or way too late.
- If a level keeps eating your attempts, try cutting a fraction of a second later than instinct tells you, gravity bends the ball's path more than it looks.
